Testimonials: The life or Death of a Site
The customer’s word is everything when it comes to telling it like it is on a site. Therefore, your little niche is up and running, it is working great and there have been no problems with software developments or angry customers, (you are truly blessed then).
However, seriously, gaining positive feedback is very important to your site and its popularity. You may have put the site up but it is the customers who make it a success or failure and for that reason, you should listen to them! Testimonials from customers can come from a survey form (solicited) or just notes from happy buyers.
If your business is working on the web, like website design you would want to have links posted to work you had done, and of course a word from the company how they like the design, ease of use, price etc…
Then you can have a page of testimonials with actual links to works you have done so the prospective customer can check you out even before actual contact.
Following all the guides here may not make you rich, but it will get you and your business no matter what it is noticed. Testimonials are the best advertisements you can ever have, and no amount of other advertising will get you the same response. Go by the feedback you receive and listen to suggestions that your customers offer!
While designing your site, remember, they should have contact information on them from the customer so it is believable to anyone reading them. Put the negative comments there too, it is only fair for both sides to be heard and then future customers can see and make up their own minds. You do not want to make up your own; they are usually way over inflated and too obvious.
Potential customers feel more secure if they see actual testimonials for your service or products. You could do some follow ups on the testimonials on how the customer has benefited from purchasing from your site and if they are repeat customers. Just make sure you get permission to add the contact e-mail of the customers leaving the testimonials!
Good PR from your customers is one of the best ad campaigns you can ever have. Yes, newspaper, opt-in e-mail and word of mouth are all good but you cannot beat actual satisfied customers.
